Liverpool is set to target Bayern Munich again when the transfer window opens with the club said they are interested in David Alaba.
Liverpool continues to be linked to the defenders following the injury to Virgil van Dijk, which is likely to preclude him for the remainder of the season.
The German publication Bild now reports that The Reds will challenge Bayern’s resolve to Alaba once again after luring Thiago Alcantara to Anfield from the same club in the summer.
The Austrian has reportedly turned down a new offer of a new contract at Bayern Munich, and could be out of the club as he seeks a new challenge; joining the Premier League said to be on top of his wish list.
Apart from being a left-back, the 28-year-old can slot comfortably at centre-back and in midfield and his versatility said to be something that Liverpool is interested in.
The player is out of contract in the next summer and will be free to talk to clubs and maybe sign a pre-contract with any of his suitors in January.
David Alaba is a potential transfer target for Liverpool, with the defender available on a pre-contract in January after failing to agree a new deal with Bayern Munich.
