Manchester United is interested in former Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid defender, Kieran Trippier, according to sources, and could make a shock move for the defender in January.
Trippier joined Atleti in 2019 for a £20m deal from Tottenham Hotspur and has established himself as a key member of the Diego Simeone squad.
However, reports from the Daily Telegraph, via Mundo Deportivo, says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bolster his defensive options in 2021 with the club having only Aaron Wan Bissaka as the natural right back in the team.
Kieran Trippier is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until July 2022 and it is said that Atleti will be opening new negotiations with the Englishman with the aim of keeping him at the club for a longer period.
Kieran Trippier has started all 10 of Atletico’s La Liga games so far in 2020/21 with the team yet to taste defeat; their last game being a 2-0 win over Real Valladolid over the weekend.
Their next tie will be in the Champions League where they are slated to take on RB Salzburg with a point needed to confirm their place in the last 16.
