Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, said on Thursday that the All Progressives Congress is growing stronger in the run-up to the 2023 elections.
This was stated by the former governor of Abia at his home town in Igbere when he welcomed thousands of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
The lawmaker representing Abia North Senate received the defector on behalf of the President of the State, Donatus Nwankpa, and the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Buni.
Kalu while speaking at the meeting called on the new members to work for the party’s victory in the next general elections.
“We are a party that encourages people to pay workers’ salaries, pensions, build roads and take care of society. Our business is to think and work toward the welfare of Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra people and Nigerians.”
Kalu added that the defection of the PDP members confirmed the APC is the best for Abia and the country.
