Police detains Onyebuchi Okocha who performed ritual on young men

The popular Anambra-based Prophet Onyebuchi Okocha, popularly known as Onyeze Jesus, has been arrested by members of the Anambra Police Command.

He went viral after he was caught spraying money with a camera on some men who were sitting unclad and bathing in the dirty water of the river.

During the alleged money ritual, the prophet strongly warned them not to dare look back as he prayed for them to be blessed with uncommon wealth.

Onyeze Jesus, Founder of Children of Light Anointing Ministries, is reportedly from Amafor village in Nkpor and was once a bus conductor before he became a prophet.

According to Anambra Broadcasting Service, the 32-year-old clergyman was arrested on Wednesday, 27 January 2021 after he apologized to Nigerians for his alleged ritual practices.

The state government through a statement on Monday, January 25 by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, warned Onyeze Jesus against his practices which the government termed ‘criminal and indecent conduct in the name of religion’.

Anambra state Ministry of Health had on Wednesday, January 27 also warned public and private hospitals and mortuaries operating in the state against allowing the prophet access to their facilities to carry out his practices after he claimed he could raise 7 corpses from the dead today, January 28, 2021.
